Santa Rosa plums — bred right here in Sonoma County by Luther Burbank — are sweet, tart, and a little jammy. We pair them with real vanilla beans, which round out the fruit and give this shrub a soft, almost fragrant richness. Add a splash to sparkling water, or use it anywhere you might reach for grenadine — we especially like it in a grown-up Shirley Temple with lemon-lime soda and a squeeze of fresh lemon.
Our shrubs begin with apple cider vinegar made from apples grown on our certified organic farm in Sebastopol. From there, we add whole fresh fruit — not just juice — and just enough sugar to balance the acidity, giving each shrub layers of real fruit flavor without making it overly sweet.
