caramel apples dusted in dried apple

Easy Caramel Apples

These caramel apples came together when we realized our caramels were perfect for more than just eating straight from the box. There's something so satisfying about dipping a crisp apple into silky, melted caramel and watching it transform into something delicious.

We love these made with our Spiced Apple Pie or Candy Cap Caramels—they're already perfectly spiced and smooth, so you get to skip the candy-making and get straight to the fun part. A generous sprinkle of our Apple Pie Snacks on top adds perfect textural contrast and doubles down on that apple flavor.

Choose apples on the smaller side—they're much more manageable to eat and the caramel-to-apple ratio is just right.

Ingredients:

Instructions: Insert popsicle sticks firmly into each apple's stem end. Set up a double boiler by placing a heatproof bowl over a pot of gently simmering water. Add caramels and 2 tablespoons cream to the bowl.

Stir occasionally as caramels melt, adding more cream until you reach a smooth, dippable consistency. Crush Apple Pie Snacks in a food processor or sealed bag with a rolling pin until coarse.

Dip each apple into melted caramel, let excess drip off, then immediately roll in crushed snacks. Place on parchment paper and let cool completely until set. Enjoy right away or wrap in cellophane for gifting!

These keep for about a week in the refrigerator, but honestly, we don't expect them to last that long!
