Little Apple Treats
This recipe for winter Wassail is an homage to the Pagan punch usually enjoyed at Yuletide and perfectly customizable to you and your family/friends tastes! Perfect for cool nights by the fire and a great option that can be served without alcohol with the choice for each guest to add their own if they want.
Ingredients
- 2 quarts of apple cider
- 2/4 cups pineapple juice
- 2 cups orange juice
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 2 sticks of cinnamon
- 1 tsp whole cloves
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Then cover, reduce heat, and let summer for 20 minutes. Uncover and let it simmer for 20 more minutes before straining out loose spices and serving. You can also transfer to a crockpot to keep warm all night!
Other options to add your own flavorful pizzaz: ginger, cardamom, coriander, allspice, star anise, pear
Serving with alcohol? Spiced rum and bourbon are great choices
